Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Trajo is a service of M2atech Solutions Inc. (Moncton, Nouveau-Brunswick). This policy describes what personal information we collect, why, whom we share it with and what your rights are, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Who is responsible

M2atech Solutions Inc. is responsible for the personal information processed by Trajo. For any question or request: support@trajo.ca. The brokerage that gives you access remains the owner of its business data; M2atech Solutions Inc. is its custodian.

2. What we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we process:

  • Account: name, email, phone, licence number, role in the brokerage, language.
  • Trips (agents): GPS positions captured WHILE tracking is on, with the timestamp, accuracy and speed of each point; trips (origin, destination, distance, classification, purpose, vehicle); odometer readings and their photos.
  • The agent's clients: name, contact details, budget, criteria, scheduled showings, reactions and comments left in the portal, showing notes and photos taken on site.
  • Real estate listings: data from the brokerage's MLS service, kept for the time its licence allows.
  • Technical: IP address, device type and app version, access logs (including portal accesses by link), application errors without personal data.

3. Why

This information is used solely to provide the service: record trips and produce the mileage report required by the Canada Revenue Agency; link a trip to a showing or a listing; manage showings and client follow-up; give the buyer access to their selection; keep the service secure and working. We never sell your data and do no advertising profiling.

4. Consent and private mode

Trip tracking only starts after explicit, timestamped and stored consent, given in the app after an explanation of what is captured. The agent can enable a private mode at any time, which stops all capture, and withdraw consent in the app, which ends tracking. Background tracking is necessary to the service: an agent on the road cannot open the app at every departure.

5. What your broker sees

The broker and the brokerage administrator NEVER see an agent's live position or the detailed route of their trips. They only receive totals and aggregated reports, after the fact. This rule is written into the software and verified by automated tests.

6. Retention

Raw GPS points are deleted at most 120 days after capture; only summarized trips (origin, destination, distance, purpose) are kept, because the tax report depends on them. Trips and odometer readings are kept seven years, the record-retention period required by the CRA. Cached listings are deleted at the expiry set by the MLS licence. Access logs are kept at most two years. At the end of the brokerage's contract, its data is exported on request then deleted.

7. Whom we share with

Only with providers necessary to the service, bound by confidentiality:

  • Server hosting and encrypted backups: in Canada.
  • Distance correction (map matching): a trip's coordinates are sent to a mapping provider for the time of the computation, without any name or personal identifier.
  • Email and text messaging: the provider receives the recipient's address or number and the message content.
  • Application error tracking: without name, email, contact details or position — an opaque identifier and the brokerage name only.
  • Subscription payments: the payment provider processes the brokerage's card; we never hold it.

8. Emails and text messages (CASL)

Every email or text message sent by the service carries the sender's identification and an unsubscribe link or mention. A buyer who unsubscribes no longer receives any automated message from the agent concerned.

9. Security

Encryption in transit and of backups at rest, strict separation of data between brokerages, access tokens revocable per device, audit log of sensitive accesses. No system is infallible: in the event of an incident affecting your information, we will inform you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada when the law requires it.

10. Your rights

You may request access to your information, its correction, deletion or portability, and withdraw your consent to tracking, by writing to support@trajo.ca. We reply within 30 days. You may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

11. Minors

The service is intended for real estate professionals and their adult clients. We do not knowingly collect information about persons under 18.

12. Changes

Any significant change to this policy is announced in the app and on this site before it takes effect, and the update date appears at the top of this page. A change in the nature of the data captured requires new consent.
